Darrell Rasner, Why?!
Another start for Darrell Rasner and another terrible outing. So what else is new? It seems as if that's all Rasner does, pitch poorly. Rasner has unfortunately made 21 starts this season and in 12 of those 21 starts he has given up three runs or more. His ERA is 5.43 with 35 walks, 65 K's, and 134 hits in 109.1 innings pitched. Are you kidding me?! My 14 year-old brother has better control on the mound. Why do the Yankees keep running him out there every 5th day if all he does is get shelled?! It can't be because there is no one that can take his spot because that is simply not true. There is Aceves, Humberto Sanchez, Phil Hughes, Jeffrey Marquez and Alan Horne (just to name a few) and all those guys can pitch better then Rasner has been pitching. I hate to say this, but even Carl "American Idle" Pavano is pitching better then Rasner! This guy was non-tendered in December for a reason. Either cut him now or non-tender him again this December, but do one because this guy is terrible. However, here's a little piece of advice for you Cashman: if you non-tender him this time, don't bring him back!
